Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.

S.B. 74    Dignified Burial of Veterans Remains (Sen. E. Vickers)

Sen. Vickers introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Thatcher moved to pass S.B. 74 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Robles and Shiozawa absent for the vote.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    
Sen. Van Tassell moved to approve the minutes of the February 15, 2013 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Robles and Shiozawa absent for the vote.

H.B. 279    Administrative Hearings by Counties (Rep. S. Cox) (Sen. E. Vickers)

Rep. Cox introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass H.B. 279 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hillyard and Robles absent for the vote.

S.B. 181    Political Subdivisions Property Amendments (Sen. W. Harper)


Sen. Harper introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:
    Sen. Van Tassell moved to amend S.B. 181 as follows:

1.    Page 1, Line 11 :

S.B. 112    Work Week Amendments (Sen. A. Osmond)

MOTION:
    Sen. Van Tassell moved to replace S.B. 181 with 1st Sub. S.B. 181. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

Sen. Osmond introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Thatcher moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 181 out favorably. The motion passed with Sens. Dayton and Van Tassell voting in opposition.

S.B. 70    Commission Relating to Federal Issues (Sen. D. Henderson)

Sen. Henderson introduced and explained the bill.

Chair Dayton relinquished the Chair to Sen. Van Tassell.

S.B. 200    Local and Special Service Districts Amendments (Sen. J. Stevenson)

MOTION:
    Sen. Van Tassell moved to replace S.B. 200 with 1st Sub. S.B. 200. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hillyard, Robles and Shiozawa absent for the vote.

Sen. J. Stevenson introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke in favor of the bill:            Mr. LeGrande Bitter, Executive Director, Utah Association for Special Districts

MOTION:    Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 200 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Shiozawa absent for the vote.

S.B. 73    Outdoor Recreation Office Act (Sen. J. Stevenson)

Sen. J. Stevenson introduced and explained the bill.
