Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m.
    
Approval of Minutes

There were no minutes to approve.



S.B. 0119    Youth Court Amendments (J. Stevenson)

Sen. Stevenson presented and explained this bill.


MOTION:      Sen. Jones moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with
        Sen. Hillyard, Thatcher, and Urquhart absent for the vote.

H.B 0010    Sex Offense Amendments (R. Greenwood)

Sen. Greenwood presented and explained the bill.

Spoke for the bill:        Ms. Cherie Rawlings , Eagle Forum

Spoke against the bill:    Mr. Kent Hart, Executive Director, Utah Association Criminal Defense Lawyers

MOTION:    Sen Thatcher moved to hold the bill.


SUBSTITUTE MOTION:
    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion failed with Sens. Robles, Jones, and Urquhart voting in favor, and Sens. Madsen, Thatcher, and Weiler voting in opposition.         


MOTION:    Sen. Robles moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Chair Madsen adjourned the meeting at 4:57 p.m.
