Chair Jenkins called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

H.C.R. 7    Concurrent Resolution on Federal Designation of Critical Habitat for Gunnison Sagegrouse (Rep. M. Noel) (Sen. D. Hinkins)

Sen. Hinkins introduced and explained this bill.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Ms. Robin Cahoon, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources

MOTION:      Sen. Hinkins moved to pass the bill out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

1st Sub. H.B. 124    Radiation Control Amendments (Rep. B. Dee) (Sen. R. Okerlund)

Sen. Jenkins introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke to the bill:    Mr. Matt Pacenza, Policy Director, Heal Utah


MOTION:      Sen. Dabakis moved to amend the bill to allow the division to go back to the radiation control board to obtain more time.

SUBSTITUTE MOTION:    Sen. Hinkins moved to pass the bill out favorably with the possibility of amending it on the floor. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Sen. Christensen moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.

Chair Jenkins adjourned the meeting at 8:45 a.m.
