Senator John L. Valentine proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 3, Lines 77 through 79 :    

             77          (4)
  (a)       "Surcharge" means an additional charge, or exclusion from a discount, that results

             78      in the total cost of a transaction exceeding what the total cost would be if the transaction was
             79      paid for using a means other than a financial transaction card.
    
  (b)    "Surcharge" does not include:

        (i)    a fee charged by a credit card company for use of a credit card; or
        (ii)    a fee authorized under Section 7-16a-202.
