7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies Title 35A, Chapter 3, Part 1, Basic Services and Support, related to
10 the provision of refugee services.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . provides that the Department of Workforce Services may make rules to provide for
14 the administration of refugee services beyond the time period funded by the federal
15 government, including the provision of:
16 . services to address emergency needs;
17 . English language training; and
18 . services for victims of domestic violence;
19 . provides that the director of the Employment Development Division administer and
20 coordinate the refugee services:
21 . with input from entities involved with the provision of refugee services within
22 the Department of Workforce Services; and
23 . in accordance with any state and federal requirements related to the provision of
24 services to refugees.

33 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
34 Section 1. Section 35A-3-117 is enacted to read:
35 35A-3-117. Continuation of refugee services.
36 (1) In accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, the
37 department may make rules to provide for the administration and coordination of services to
38 refugees beyond the time period refugee assistance is provided or funded by the federal
39 government, including the provision of:
40 (a) services to address emergency needs;
41 (b) English language training; and
42 (c) services for victims of domestic violence.
43 (2) The director shall administer and coordinate services under this section:
44 (a) with input from the department and any office or advisory committee involved with
45 the provision of refugee services within the department; and
46 (b) in accordance with any state and federal requirements related to the provision of
47 services to refugees.
