             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill modifies the State Construction Code.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    modifies certain provisions governing the fire rating of photovoltaic systems; and
             13          .    deletes certain provisions relating to the fire classification labeling of photovoltaic
             14      systems.
             15      Money Appropriated in this Bill:
             16          None
             17      Other Special Clauses:
             18          This bill provides an immediate effective date.
             19      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             20      AMENDS:
             21           15A-3-106 , as enacted by Laws of Utah 2011, Chapter 14
             22      ENACTS:
             23           15A-3-106.5 , Utah Code Annotated 1953
             24     
             25      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             26          Section 1. Section 15A-3-106 is amended to read:
             27           15A-3-106. Amendments to Chapters 13 and 14 of IBC.


             28          IBC, Chapters 13 [through 15] and 14 are not amended.
             29          Section 2. Section 15A-3-106.5 is enacted to read:
             30          15A-3-106.5. Amendments to Chapter 15 of IBC.
             31          (1) IBC, Section 1505.8 is deleted.
             32          (2) IBC, Section 1509.7.2 is deleted.
             33          (3) IBC, Section 1509.7.4 is deleted and rewritten as follows:
             34          "1. Except as provided in paragraph 2., photovoltaic panels and modules that are
             35      mounted on top of a roof shall be listed and labeled in accordance with UL 1703 and shall be
             36      installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.
             37          2. The requirements described in section 16 of UL 1703 do not apply to the
             38      photovoltaic panels and modules described in paragraph 1."
             39          Section 3. Effective date.
             40          If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
             41      upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
             42      Constitution, Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
             43      the date of veto override.
