             8      General Description:
             9          This bill enacts language designating the sheriff as the primary law enforcement
             10      authority in the incorporated and unincorporated county.

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 17-22-31 is enacted to read:
             25          17-22-31. Sheriff -- Primary law enforcement authority.
             26          (1) The sheriff is the primary law enforcement authority in the incorporated and
             27      unincorporated county.


             28          (2) If there is a question of jurisdiction or authority in the course of an emergency
             29      response requiring law enforcement, regardless of the emergency, the sheriff is the primary law
             30      enforcement authority.
