7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies Title 58, Chapter 53, Landscape Architects Licensing Act, regarding
10 the requirements for obtaining licensure in landscape architecture.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . modifies the requirements for obtaining licensure in landscape architecture by
14 removing the requirement for an applicant to:
15 . have a bachelor's or master's degree; or
16 . have completed supervised practical experience; and
17 . makes technical changes.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 58-53-302 is amended to read:

28 58-53-302. Qualifications for licensure.
29 [(1) Each] An applicant for licensure as a landscape architect shall:
30 [(a)] (1) submit an application in a form prescribed by the division;
31 [(b)] (2) pay a fee as determined by the department under Section 63J-1-504 ;
32 [(c)] (3) provide satisfactory evidence of good moral character; and
33 [(d) (i) have graduated and received an earned bachelors or masters degree from a
34 landscape architecture program meeting criteria established by rule by the division in
35 collaboration with the board; or]
36 [(ii) have completed not less than eight years of supervised practical experience in
37 landscape architecture which meets the requirements established by rule by the division in
38 collaboration with the board; and]
39 [(e)] (4) have successfully passed examinations established by rule by the division in
40 collaboration with the board.
41 [(2) Satisfactory completion of each year of a landscape architectural program
42 described in Subsection (1)(d)(i) is equivalent to one year of experience for purposes of
43 Subsection (1)(d)(ii).]
