8 General Description:
9 This bill allows a licensed physical therapist to supervise a licensed athletic trainer
10 under certain circumstances.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . allows a licensed physical therapist to supervise a licensed athletic trainer:
14 . for the purpose of health insurance billing; and
15 . when required by a health insurance plan.

24 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. Section 58-24b-404.1 is enacted to read:
26 58-24b-404.1. Supervision of a licensed athletic trainer.
27 (1) As used in this section:

28 (a) "Athletic trainer" means an individual licensed under Title 58, Chapter 40a,
29 Athletic Trainer Licensing Act.
30 (b) "Health insurance plan" means a plan that offers accident and health insurance, as
31 defined in Section 31A-1-301 .
32 (2) A licensed physical therapist may supervise an athletic trainer:
33 (a) for the purpose of health insurance billing; and
34 (b) when required by a health insurance plan.
