             8      General Description:
             9          This bill imposes requirements regarding reporting of online course enrollment.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    requires the State Board of Education to require a school district or charter school to
             13      indicate whether a course is an online course when reporting student enrollment
             14      data.

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 53A-1-414 is enacted to read:
             25          53A-1-414. Reporting of online course enrollment.
             26          (1) As used in this section, "online course" means a course of instruction offered
             27      through the use of digital technology.


             28          (2) The State Board of Education shall:
             29          (a) require a school district or charter school to indicate whether a course is an online
             30      course when reporting student enrollment data to the State Board of Education; and
             31          (b) establish guidelines for classifying a course as an online course to ensure that
             32      online course enrollment is uniformly reported by school districts and charter schools.
