Madam Speaker:

    The Education Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 221, SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL REVISIONS, by Representative R. Cunningham, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Lines 12 through 13 :    

             12          .    changes the deadline for an election for the parent or guardian members of a school
             13      community council

{   to September 20   } ;


2.    Page 4, Line 119 through Page 5, Line 121 :    

             119          (B) An election for the parent or guardian members of a school community council
             120      shall be held near the beginning of the school year
{   and completed before [October 15]

             121      September 20   } or held in the spring and completed before the last week of school.
