    The Revenue and Taxation Committee reports a favorable recommendation on S.B. 136, LOCAL ELECTIONS AMENDMENTS, by Senator H. Stephenson, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 3, Line 80 :    

             80          (15) "Local tax law" means a local law

  , passed by a political subdivision with an annual or biannual calendar fiscal year,       that increases a tax or imposes a new tax.


1.    Page 7, Lines 205 through 206 :    

             205          (1) An election officer
{   shall   }        may       administer an election on a referendum challenging a local

             206      tax law entirely by absentee ballot.
