Vice Chair Snow called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2014 meeting. The motion passed with Rep. McCay, Rep. Powell, and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

H.B. 251    Unsworn Declaration Amendments (Rep. K. McIff)

MOTION:    Rep. Arent moved to return to rules H.B. 251. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. McCay, Rep. Powell, and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

H.B. 320    Educators' Professional Learning (Rep. B. Last)

Rep. Last explained the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 7, Lines 189 through 190 :    

             189          (a) professional learning occurs within learning communities committed to continuous
             190      improvement,
  individual and       collective responsibility, and goal alignment;


The motion passed unanimously with Rep. McCay, Rep. Powell, Rep. Sanpei, and Rep. Stratton absent for the vote.

MOTION:
    Rep. Nielson moved to amend the bill as follows:

The motion failed with Rep. Arent, Rep. Nielson, and Rep. Poulson voting in favor of the motion.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Nielson voting in opposition. Rep. McCay, Rep. Sanpei, and Rep. Stratton were absent for the vote.
