Vice Chair Snow called the meeting to order at 8:08 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to approve the minutes of the February 14, 2014 meeting. The motion passed with Rep. Eliason, Rep. Peterson, Rep. Powell, Rep. Sanpei, and Rep. Stratton absent for the vote.

H.B. 109    Public Education Capital Funding Equalization (Rep. K. Ivory)

At the request of the sponsor, this bill was not considered.

H.B. 111    School Building Costs Reporting (Rep. J. Knotwell)

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 4, Lines 106 through 110 :    

             106          (ii) submit the report:
             107          (A) to the division for publication on the Utah Public Finance Website; and
             108          (B) in a format, including any raw data or electronic formatting,
{   required by rule made

             109      by the division in accordance with Section

H.B. 116    School Construction Modifications (Rep. R. Cunningham)

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 3, Line 74 :    

             74          (1)
  (a)       The division shall adopt standards for public school construction.

    
  (b) The division shall consult with the Utah State Office of Education when adopting the standards described in Subsection (1)(a).      


The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 38    Rural Superintendent Concurrent Education Program (Sen. R. Okerlund) (Rep. )

Sen. Okerlund explained the bill assisted by Ray Terry, Beaver County School District and President, Rural Schools Association.

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Vice Chair Snow adjourned the meeting at 10:05 a.m.
