Chair McIff called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.

H.J.R. 12    Joint Resolution on Appointment of Legal Counsel for Executive Officers (Rep. M. McKell)

Rep. McKell explained the resolution to the committee.

Spoke to the bill:    Mr. John Dougall, Utah State Auditor

MOTION:    Rep. Arent moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Greene and Rep. Hutchings absent for the vote.

H.B. 368    Jury Duty Amendments (Rep. C. Hall)

Rep. Hall explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke to the bill:    Mr. Adam Trupp, Utah Association of Counties

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Greene, Rep. Hutchings, and Rep. King absent for the vote.

H.B. 208    Domestic Asset Protection Trust Amendments (Rep. V. L. Snow)

At the request of Rep. Snow, Chair McIff explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to return H.B. 208 to the Rules Committee for further consideration during interim. The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 126    Child Welfare Amendments (Sen. W. Harper)

Sen. Harper explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 6, Lines 164 through 165 :    

             164          (a) are [short-term, intensive, crisis intervention programs] specific to the
{   individual   }

             165      needs of
{   the   }        each individual       family;


The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Arent moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
