Chair Noel called the meeting to order at 2:12 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Duckworth moved to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Barrus, Rep. Brown, Rep. Christofferson, Rep. Mathis, Rep. McKell, and Rep. Wiley absent for the vote.

H.J.R. 6    Joint Resolution Approving Commercial Nonhazardous Solid Waste Disposal Facility At a New Location (Rep. G. Hughes)

Rep. Hughes explained the resolution to the committee with the assistance of Selin Hoboy, Stericycle.

Spoke for the resolution:    Redge Johnson, citizen
                Shawn Milne, Tooele County Commissioner
                James Nold, Stericycle

Spoke against the resolution:    Nicola Nelson, citizen

MOTION:    Rep. Nelson moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christofferson, Rep. McKell, Rep. Wilcox, and Rep. Wiley absent for the vote.

Vice Chair Sagers assumed the chair.

H.B. 341    Federal Land Acquisition Amendments (Rep. M. Noel)

Rep. Noel explained the bill to the committee with the assistance of Kim Christy, assistant director, Trust Lands Administration. A handout, "Red Cliffs National Conservation Area Map," was provided.

Spoke for the bill:    Redge Johnson, citizen

MOTION:    Rep. Briscoe moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christofferson absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Noel moved to place HB341 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christofferson absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Wilcox moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christofferson absent for the vote.
