Chair Webb called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Westwood moved to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox, Rep. Poulson, and Rep. Seelig absent for the vote.

H.B. 414    Legislative Subpoena Amendments (Rep. J. Dunnigan)

Rep. Dunnigan with the assistance of Thomas R. Vaughn, Associate General Counsel, explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Westwood moved to pass H.B. 414 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox and Rep. Seelig absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to place H.B. 414 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox absent for the vote.

S.B. 158    Cemetery Amendments (Sen. S. Jenkins) (Rep. R. Wilcox)

Sen. Jenkins explained the bill to the committee .


MOTION:
    Rep. Anderson moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 3, Lines 78 through 80
    Senate 2nd Reading Amendments
    2-24-2014 :
    

             78          (2) The county [recorders] recorder shall file [such abstracts] the transcript described in
             79      Subsection (1) without charge
{   and make any and all necessary notations upon the [plats of the

             80      cemeteries theretofore filed with them] plat of the respective cemetery

.

2nd Sub. S.B. 169    Public Meetings Materials Requirements (Sen. D. Henderson) (Rep. S. Eliason)


Sen. Henderson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Westwood moved to pass 2nd Substitute S.B. 169 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox, Rep. Dunnigan, and Rep. Hall absent for the vote.
