Chair Barrus called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.
H.B. 44 Interstate Electric Transmission Lines (Rep. S. Handy)
The bill was explained by Rep. Handy.
MOTION: Rep. Barrus moved to replace HB44 with 1st Substitute HB44. The motion
passed unanimously with Rep. Romero absent for the vote.
Spoke for the bill: Aaron Tilton, Blue Castle Holdings
Spoke against the bill: Spencer Stokes, Transwest Express
The handout, "Challenges to Building New Electric Transmission in Utah", was distributed to the
committee.
Chair Barrus relinquished the chair to Rep. Webb.
Rep. Barrus returned and resumed the chair.
MOTION: Rep. Anderson moved to pass 1st Substitute HB44 out favorably. The motion
passed with Rep. Hemingway and Rep. Webb voting in opposition.
H.B. 275 Vietnam War Memorial Day Amendment (Rep. C. Oda)
The bill was explained by Rep. Oda.
MOTION: Rep. Anderson moved to replace HB275 with 2nd Substitute HB275. The motion
passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Westwood moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed
unanimously.
