Chair Anderson called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m.


MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to approve the minutes of the February 4, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. McCay, Rep. Pitcher, Rep. Sanpei, and Rep. Tanner absent for the vote.

Carlos Braceras, Executive Director, Utah Department of Transportation, corrected a statement from last meeting.

H.B. 264    Disabled Parking Fine Amendments (Rep. J. Seelig)

Rep. Seelig explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke for the bill:    Michael Stott, Salt Lake City Mayor's Accessibility Council
            
Craig Carter, Salt Lake City Mayor's Accessibility Council
            
Mariam Hyde, Utah Disability Caucus

Spoke against the bill:     Michael M. Barnes, Salt Lake City Mayor's Accessibility Council

MOTION:    
Rep. McCay moved to pass H.B. 264 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Pitcher absent for the vote.



MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to place H.B. 264 on the Consent Calendar. The motion         passed unanimously with Rep. Pitcher absent for the vote.

H.B. 219    Veteran's Separation Amendments (Rep. V. Peterson)

Rep. Peterson explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke for the bill:    Gary Harter, Utah Department of Veteran and Military Affairs

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to pass H.B. 219 out favorably. The motion passed              unanimously with Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to place H.B. 219 on the Consent Calendar. The motion         passed unanimously with Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

Vice Chair Peterson assumed the chair.

Rep. Anderson discussed the Transportation Funding to the committee and provided a handout titled "Transportation Funding."

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.

Vice Chair Peterson adjourned the meeting at 3:52 p.m.
