Representative Jim Nielson proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Lines 9 through 10 :    

             9          This bill establishes reporting requirements for
{   school districts, charter schools, and   } the

             10      State Board of Education related to quantifying the number of certain teachers.

2.    Page 1, Lines 13 through 14 :    

             13          .    requires
{   school districts and charter schools   }        the State Board of Education       to report data to the      {   State Board of

             14      Education  
}
  Legislature's Education Interim Committee       on the allocation of resources for front-line teachers.


3.    Page 3, Line 60 :    

             60          (1) (a)
{   An LEA   }        The State Board of Education       shall report all information as required in this section.


4.    Page 3, Lines 63 through 72 :    

             63          (2) (a) An LEA shall report all necessary data to the State Board of Education for
             64      purposes of calculating the percentages defined in Section 53A-1-414 .
             65          
{   (b) An LEA shall report the following data to the State Board of Education:

             66          (i) the LEA's total number of FTE front-line teachers; and
             67          (ii) the LEA's average class size for:
             68          (A) elementary school;
             69          (B) middle or junior high school; and
             70          (C) high school.  
}

{   (c)   }        (b)       The State Board of Education shall make rules specifying how an LEA shall report

             72      the required data for purposes of this Subsection (2) ensuring the data is comparable.
