Vice Chair Powell called the meeting to order at 4:37 p.m.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ward moved to approve the minutes of the March 5, 2015, meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderson, Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Ipson, Rep. Kennedy, Rep. Pitcher, and Rep. Poulson absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 397           Local School Funding Options (Rep. N. Thurston)

 

Rep. Thurston explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:       Rep. Webb moved to hold H.B. 397 and return to the Rules Committee for interim study. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Ipson, and Rep. Pitcher absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 418           Special Service and Local District Amendments (Rep. S. Handy)

 

Rep. Handy explained the bill to the committee with the assistance of LeGrand Bitter, Utah Association of Special Districts.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Anderson moved to pass H.B. 418 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Ipson, and Rep. Pitcher absent for the vote.
