7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9          This bill enacts provisions related to falconry.
10     Highlighted Provisions:
11          This bill:
12          ▸     prohibits a municipality or a county from enacting an ordinance that limits a
13     registered falconer from keeping a raptor at the falconer's residence.

23     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24          Section 1. Section 10-9a-526 is enacted to read:
25          10-9a-526. Regulation of raptors.
26          (1) As used in this section:
27          (a) "Raptor" means any bird or hybrid of the order Accipitriformes, order

28     Falconiformes, or order Strigiformes.
29          (b) "Registered falconer" means an individual who holds a valid certificate of
30     registration under Section 23-19-34.5 to keep falcons and engage in the sport of falconry.
31          (2) A municipality may not adopt or enforce an ordinance or other regulation that
32     limits a registered falconer's ability to keep a raptor:
33          (a) at the registered falconer's residence; and
34          (b) in accordance with applicable state law and administrative rules.
35          Section 2. Section 17-27a-525 is enacted to read:
36          17-27a-525. Regulation of raptors.
37          (1) As used in this section:
38          (a) "Raptor" means any bird or hybrid of the order Accipitriformes, order
