Article XXIV, Section 3. [Prisoners to be held.]
Any person, who, at the time of the admission of the State into the Union, may be
confined under lawful commitment, or otherwise lawfully held to answer for alleged violation of
any of the criminal laws of the Territory of Utah, shall continue to be so held or confined, until
discharged therefrom by the proper courts of the State.
