Chair Henderson called the meeting to order at 2:33 p.m.
MOTION: Sen. Henderson moved to approve the
minutes of the February 4, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with
Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

Related Referendum Amendments (J.
Valentine)
Sen. Valentine explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to amend the bill as follows:

Page 4, Lines 91 through 98:
91 (14)
(a) An election officer shall include on
a ballot a referendum that has not yet
92qualified for placement on the ballot, if:
93 (i) sponsors file an application for a referendum
described in this section;
94 (ii) the ballot will be used for the election for
which the sponsors are attempting to
95qualify the referendum; and
96 (iii) the deadline for qualifying the referendum
for placement on the ballot occurs after
97the day on which the ballot will be printed.
(b) If
an election officer includes on a ballot a referendum described in Subsection
(14)(a), the ballot
title shall comply with Subsection (12)
98 {(b)} (c) __If an election officer includes on a ballot a referendum
described in Subsection
The motion passed
unanimously.

out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
