Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at.8:00 a.m.

 

S.B. 147       Residential Renter’s Deposits Amendments  (P. Jones)

 

MOTION:   Sen. Hinkins moved to adopt 1st Sub.  S.B. 147.  The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Bramble  moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

 

S.B.  129      Insurance Amendments  (C. Bramble)

 

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:      Sen.  Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

 

S.B.  156      Construction Trades Licensing Act Amendments  (C. Bramble)

 

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:   Sen.  Hinkins moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:    Sen. Bramble moved that S.B. 156 be placed on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

 

S.B.  143      State Building Code Amendments  (T. Weiler)

 

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Weiler moved to proceed to the next item on the Agenda.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

 

S.B.  130      Trust Deed Foreclosure Amendments  (W. Harper)

 

Sen. Harper explained the bill to the committee and the following amendment was distributed:

 

1.         Page 6, Lines 153 through 154:

           


                               153        (b)  a beneficiary of the trust deed after   {the beneficiary sells}   the trust property  is          sold  to a bona

                               154 fide purchaser.

 

 

Sen, Weiler  moved to adopt the amendment.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen Davis absent for the vote.

MOTION:   Sen. Valentine moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

S.B.  133      Benefit Corporation Amendments  (J. Valentine)

 

Sen. Valentine explained the bill to the committee.

S.B.  160      Worker’s Compensation Amendments  ( J. Valentine)

 

Sen. Valentine explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:   Sen. Bramble  moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 S.B.  123     Interlocal Cooperation Act Revisions  (J. Valentine)

 

Sen. Valentine explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Bramble moved to amend the bill as follows:

 

1.         Page 2, Lines 40 through 45: 

 


                        40           (ii)  [Before and on May 1, 2014, "taxed] "Taxed interlocal entity" includes an

                        41          interlocal entity that:

                        42           (A)   {(I)}    was created before 1981 for the purpose of providing power supply at wholesale

                        43          to its members;   {or

                        44           (II)  is described in Subsection 11-13-204(7);} 

                        45           (B)  does not receive a payment of funds from a federal agency or office, state agency or

 

The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen.  Valentine moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

S.B. 124  Financial Institution and Services Amendments  (C. Bramble), S.B. 162  Secondhand Sales Amendments  (D. Thatcher), and S.B. 153  Association Foreclosure Amendments  (S. Urquhart) were not considered.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Hinkins moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
