Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 2:20 p.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Weiler moved to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2014 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

 

Chair Madsen asked Sen. Weiler to chair the meeting.   

 

S.B. 46            Administrative Subpoena Requirement Modifications (Sen. M. Madsen)

 

MOTION:   Sen. Madsen moved to replace S.B. 46 with 2nd Sub. S.B. 46. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Madsen explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:                   Marina Lowe, Legislative and Policy Council, American Civil Liberties Union of Utah

 

MOTION:  Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

 

H.B 75S01      Restoration of Civil Rights for Nonviolent Felons (Rep. C. Oda)

 

Sen. Madsen explained the bill to the committee.

Sen. Weiler relinquished the chair to Sen. Madsen.

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee.
