Chair Vickers called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Christensen moved to approve the minutes of the February 18, 2014 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Robles absent for the vote.    

 

S.B. 12         Age Limit for Tobacco and Related Products (Sen. S. Reid)

 

MOTION:   Sen. Shiowaza moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.         Page 1, Line 27 through Page 2, Line 28:          


               27      Other Special Clauses:


               28      {None}    This bill takes effect on July 1, 2016.  


 

2.         Page 19, Lines 576 through 579:           


            576  (iv)  the name and description of the cashier or proprietor from whom the individual

            577  attempted the purchase;

            578  (v)  the name and address of the retail establishment; and

            579  (vi)  the date and time of the attempted purchase.

                    Section 16.  Effective date.

                    This bill takes effect on July 1, 2016.

MOTION:   Sen. Christensen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Sen. Vickers voting in opposition.

 

S.B. 193       Naturopathic Practice Act Amendments (Sen. J. Adams)

 

MOTION:   Sen Shiowaza moved to amend the bill as follow:

1.         Page 3, Lines 70 through 72:     


              70       (iv)   if approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration,   percutaneous injection into skin, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints with:

              71       (A)  local anesthetics and nonscheduled prescription medications  {, if approved by the

              72       United States Food and Drug Administration for administration by injection}  ; and


 

2.         Page 4, Lines 103 through 104: 


                                     103           (i)  under the general supervision of a physician licensed as described in   {Subsection

                                     104           (2)(d)}    Section 58-67-102  ; and

 

The motion passed unanimously.
