Acting Chair Osmond called the meeting to order at 8:38 a.m.

 

H.B. 36        Charter School Enrollment Amendments (Rep. D. Lifferth)

 

Rep. Lifferth explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:       Craig Frank, Board Member, Utah Charter Network

 

MOTION:  Sen. Jones moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.

 

Acting Chair Osmond relinquished the chair to Sen. Jones.

 

S.B. 101       Public Education Human Resource Management Amendments (Sen. A. Osmond)

 

Sen. Osmond explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:       Sydnee Dickson, Director, Teaching & Learning Section, Utah State

                                                Office of Education

 

MOTION:  Sen. Osmond moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.

 

Acting Chair Jones relinquished the chair to Sen. Osmond.

 

 

 

H.B. 260      Local School Board Candidate Reporting Amendments (Rep. K. Powell)

 

Rep. Powell explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Jones moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Madsen moved to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2014 and February 14, 2014 meetings.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Jones moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
