Chair Weiler called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m.

 

There were no minutes to approve.   

 

Sen. Dayton assumed the Chair.

 

S.B. 15         Reemployment Restrictions Amendments (Sen. T. Weiler)

 

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.         Page 1, Lines 15 through 16:

    


             15             exempts an active senior justice court judge appointed to hear cases by the Utah

             16        Supreme Court   and a part-time appointed board member   from postretirement employment restrictions;


 

2.         Page 2, Lines 45 through 46:

    


                                    45     (ii)   The provisions of this section apply to an elected official whose elected position is

                                    46             full time as certified by the participating employer. 

                     (c)   (i)    This section does not apply to employment as a part-time appointed

                                    board member who does not receive any remuneration, stipend, or

                                    other benefit for the part-time appointed board member's service.

       (ii)   For purposes of this Subsection (1)(c), remuneration, stipend, or other

               benefit does not include receipt of per diem and travel expenses up to the

               amounts established by the Division of Finance in:

               (A)  Section 63A-3-106;

               (B)  Section 63A-3-107; and

                                    (C)  rules made by the Division of Finance according to Sections 63A-3-106

                                     and 63A-107.   

 

                     The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved to pass S.B. 15 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Sen. Weiler resumed the Chair.

 

S.B. 59         Independent Entities Financial Transparency Disclosure (D. Henderson)

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to replace the bill with 1st Sub. S.B. 59.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

Sen. Henderson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:   Sen. Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
