Chair Van Tassell called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m. and announced that S.B. 235 and S.B. 252 will not be heard today.

MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to approve the minutes of the February 26, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Dayton absent for the vote.

S.B. 253 Distracted Driver Amendments (S. Urquhart)

Sen. Urquhart explained the bill to the committee and presented a video.

Spoke for the bill: Leslee Henson, Victim of distracted driving

Haley Warner, Daughter of victim of distracted driving

Sen. Bramble, friend and neighbor of victims

David Spatafore, Utah Chiefs of Police

MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Sen. Dayton voting in opposition and Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

H.B. 86 Utah Energy Infrastructure Authority Act Amendments (R. Barrus)

Sen. Dayton assumed the Committee Chair.

Committee Chair Van Tassell explained the bill to the committee.

David Spatafore further explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

Chair Van Tassell resumed the Committee Chair.

S.B. 234 Cory B. Wride Memorial Highway (M. Madsen)

Sen. Madsen explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.
