Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m.

 

S.B. 159          Bail Amendments (Sen. S. Jenkins)

 

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved S.B. 159 be replaced with 1st Sub. S.B. 159. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jones and Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Jenkins explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke to the bill:         Dana Farmer, Attorney, Smith Knowles Law Firm

 

MOTION:  Sen. Robles moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed with Sen. Madsen voting in opposition and Sen. Jones and Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote

 

S.B. 264       Retention of Outside Counsel, Expert Witnesses, and Litigation Support Services (Sen. J. S. Adams)

 

Sen. Adams explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 265          Law Enforcement Services Account (Sen. L. Robles)

 

Sen. Robles explained the bill to the committee.
