Chair Vickers called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Christensen moved to approve the minutes of the March 3, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Thatcher and Sen. Shiozawa absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 77         Pharmacy Practice Act Amendments (Sen. E. Vickers)

 

Sen. Vickers explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Vickers moved to replace S.B. 77 with 2nd Sub. S.B. 77, Pharmacy Practice Act Amendments. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Shiowaza absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Vickers moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Shiowaza absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 255       Social Work Amendment (Sen. G. Davis)

 

Sen. Davis explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:   Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 346      Foster Children Amendments (Rep. Johnny Anderson)

 

MOTION:   Sen. Thatcher moved to amend the bill as follows:

  If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah Constitution, Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto, the date of veto override.
