Chair Davis called the meeting to order at 4:58 p.m.

 

S.B. 155          Children’s Justice Centers Amendments (Sen. R. Okerlund)

 

Sen. Okerlund explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke to the bill:         Tracy Talbot, Administrator, State Children’s Justice Center

 

MOTION:  Sen. Hillyard moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen and Sen. Thatcher absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Hillyard moved to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen and Sen. Thatcher absent for the vote.  

 

S.B. 167       Juvenile Offender Amendments (Sen. A. Osmond)

 

Sen. Osmond explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Hillyard moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen and Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote

 

H.B. 85        Peace Officer Training Amendments (Rep. M. Roberts)

 

Rep. Roberts explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke to the bill:         Scott Stephenson, Director, Peace Officer Standards and Training

                                    Joe Brown, Division Director, Department of Public Safety

 

Spoke for the bill:       Kelly Atkison, General Counsel, Fraternal Order of Police

 

MOTION:  Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Sen. Weiler voting in opposition and Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 154      Jury Duty Exemption Amendments (Rep. M. McKell)

 

Rep. McKell explained the bill to the committee.

                    

MOTION:  Sen. Weilier moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Hillyard moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.
