Vice Chair Roberts called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ipson moved to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Daw, Rep. Ray, Rep. Romero, and Rep. Tanner absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 302         Traffic Safety Lights on Vehicles (Rep. L. Perry)


Rep. Perry explained the bill to the committee with the assistance of Bill Brimley, sales manager, Safety First Brake Light. A handout "Safety First Brake Light" was distributed to the committee.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Peterson moved to pass H.B. 302 out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Romero and Rep. Tanner absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ipson moved to place H.B. 302 on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Romero and Rep. Tanner absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 284         Minor Alcohol or Drug Related Offenses and Driving Privileges (Rep. E. Redd)


Rep. Redd explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke for the bill:       Mary Lou Emerson, Utah Substance Abuse Advisory Council

                                    Art Brown, Mothers Against Drunk Driving

 

MOTION:     Rep. Peterson moved to replace H.B. 284 with 1st Substitute H.B. 284. The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Daw moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 284 out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ipson moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.


Vice Chair Roberts adjourned the meeting at 9:10 a.m.
