Chair Weiler called the meeting to order at 1:11 p.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to approve the minutes of the February 6, 2015 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.    

 

H.J.R. 10     Joint Resolution Regarding Public Employee Health Plan (Rep. J. Dunnigan)

 

Rep. Dunnigan explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to place the bill on the consent calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 133      Firefighter Amendments (Rep. D. Ipson)

 

Rep. Ipson explained the bill to the committee. 

 

Spoke for the bill:       Mr. Coy Porter, State Fire Marshall

 

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to place the bill on the consent calendar.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

H.B. 38        Supplemental Savings Plan Amendments (Rep. R. Cunningham)

 

Rep. Cunningham explained the bill to the committee. 

 

Rep. Cunningham said it was important to have the Roth IRA be included with the plans that qualify for employee matching funds.  He stated that as he has dealt with state employees in his career, he has always felt that the state needed to have the Roth IRA provision.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

Chair Weiler adjourned the meeting at 1:30 p.m.
