Chair Jenkins called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to approve the minutes of the last meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen and Sen. Iwamoto absent for the vote.    

 

S.B. 208       Air Quality Amendments (Sen. L. Escamilla)

 

Sen. Escamilla explained the bill to the committee.

 

Sen. Jenkins relinquished the chair to Sen. Dayton.

 

Spoke for the bill:                   Ms. Kathy Van Dame, Policy Coordinator, Wasatch Clean Air Coalition

                                                Ms. Ingrid Griffee, Utah Moms for Clean Air

 

MOTION:  Sen. Vickers moved to proceed with the next agenda item.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 225       Irrigation Service Water Rights Amendments (Sen. K. Van Tassell)

 

Sen. Van Tassell explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:                   Mr. Kent Jones, State Engineer, Division of Water Rights

                                                Ms. Vickie Stanley, Myton City Council

                    

MOTION:   Sen. Christensen moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Christensen moved the bill be placed on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 84        Lead Recycling Amendment (Rep. M. Nelson)

 

Rep. Nelson explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:                   Ms. Candace Daly, Government Relations, ISRI Utah

 

MOTION:   Sen. Vickers moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Vickers moved the bill be placed on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Vickers moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
