S.B. 209 Volunteer Registry (Sen. M. Dayton)

Sen. Dayton explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Jackson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 280 Utah National Guard Command Structure Amendments (Rep. V. Peterson)

Rep. Peterson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Jackson moved to adopt the following amendment:

1. Page 3, Lines 68 through 71:

68 (b) The chief of staff for air shall be at least a field grade federally recognized

69commissioned officer of the Utah National Guard with not less than five years of military

70service in the armed forces of a state or of the United States, at least three of which shall have

71been commissioned in the {~~Air~~} Utah National Guard {~~of the United States~~} .

(b)(i) An owner of land or the owner's agent may request that service be temporarily discontinued for maintenance-related activities.

(ii) A local district may not temporarily discontinue service under Subsection (3)(b)(i) if the request is for the purpose of debt collection, eviction, or any other unlawful purpose.
