Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 4:16 p.m.


MOTION:     Rep. Knotwell moved to approve the minutes of the February 26, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Schultz and Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 206          Utah Revised Business Corporation Act Amendments (Sen. C. Bramble)


Sen. Bramble explained the bill.


MOTION:     Rep. Knotwell moved to pass out favorably S.B. 206. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.


MOTION:     Rep. Roberts moved to place S.B. 206 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.

  

H.B. 375         Labeling Requirements for Types of Retail Goods (Rep. R. Edwards)


Rep. Edwards explained the bill assisted by Shauna Sloan, owner of Kid to Kid, and distributed a handout, "Secondhand Tagging."


MOTION:     Rep. Anderegg moved to amend H.B. 375 as follows:

 

1.    Page 2, Lines 38 through 45:   

 

38   (3) The disclosure statement required under Subsection (2)(b) shall:

39   (a) state {  "ALL ITEMS OFFERED FOR SALE IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT ARE

40SECONDHAND UNLESS SPECIFICALLY LABELED AS NEW"  }  "All items offered for sale are secondhand unless specifically labeled as new"  ;

41   (b) be printed:

42   (i) in black {  capital  } letters using Arial, Calibri, Cambria, or Times New Roman font no

43smaller than 48 point;

44   (ii) on bright yellow paper, at least 8.5 inches by {  6.5  }  5.5  inches in size; and

45   (c) be displayed at each public entrance and check stand at each retail location.

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Froerer and Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.
