Chair Henderson called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m.
MOTION: Sen. Harper moved to approve the minutes
of the February 27, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen.
Bramble, Sen. Davis, and Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.
S.B. 267 Sales and Use Tax Exemption Amendments (Sen. J. S. Adams)
This bill was not considered.
S.B. 273 Higher Education Tax Credits (Sen. J. Dabakis)
Sen. Dabakis explained the bill to the committee.
Spoke to the bill: John Valentine, Commissioner, State Tax Commission
MOTION: Sen. Dabakis moved S.B. 273 be replaced with 1st Sub. 273. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Sen. Harper voting in opposition.
H.B. 211 Armed Forces Property Tax Exemption Amendments (Rep. C. Oda)
Rep. Oda explained the bill to the committee.
Spoke for the bill: Dennis McFall, Deputy Director, Department of Veterans Affairs
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Harper moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.
H.B. 256 Revenue Reviews For Certain Funds (Rep. Eliason)
Rep. Eliason explained the bill to the committee.
