Chair Webb called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Kennedy moved to approve the minutes of the March 2, 2015, meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderson, Rep. Coleman, Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Miller, Rep. Pitcher, and Rep. Poulson absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 416           Certain Employee's Forfeit of Retirement for Employment Related Offenses (Rep. D. McCay)

 

Rep. McCay explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke to the bill:            Bob Thompson, Department of Human Resource Management

                                       Dee Larsen, Utah Retirement Systems

 

MOTION:       Rep. Miller moved to pass H.B. 416 out favorably.

 

SUBSTITUTE

MOTION:       Rep. Thurston moved to consider the next item on the agenda while allowing those interested in H.B. 416 to discuss and resolve their differences in the hallway and then the committee would continue it's consideration of H.B. 416 later in the meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderson, Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Pitcher, and Rep. Poulsen absent for the vote.

1st Sub. S.B. 190           Mobile Home Park Helpline (Sen. D. Thatcher) (Rep. R. C. Webb)

 

Rep. Webb explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:       Rep. Miller moved to pass 1st Substitute S.B. 190 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderson, Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Pitcher, and Rep. Poulsen absent for the vote.

H.B. 416           Certain Employee's Forfeit of Retirement for Employment Related Offenses (Rep. D. McCay)

 

Rep. McCay explained that the issue with the bill had been resolved.

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to amend the bill as follows:

75   (i) conduct an investigation  , which may rely on the conviction,  to determine:

78   (ii) after the period of time for an appeal by an employee under Subsection {  (4)(c)  }  (5)  .

79immediately notify the office of the employer's determination under this Subsection (4)(b).
