Chair Vickers called the meeting to order at 8:16 a.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Van Tassell moved to approve the minutes of the March 2, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Shiowaza absent for the vote.    

 

S.B. 291       Affordable Housing Amendments (Sen. W. Harper)

 

Sen. Harper explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke for the bill:       Steve Erickson, Utah National Association of Housing and Redevelopment

 

MOTION:   Sen. Van Tassell moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.         Page 2, Lines 42 through 55:     


                                42          (g)  the president of the Utah Association of Realtors or the president's designee;

                                43                 (h)    {three}    two   persons representing expertise in maintaining or developing affordable

                                44          housing, designated by the executive director of the Department of Workforce Services;

                                45          (i)  the executive director of the Utah Housing Coalition or the executive director's

                                46          designee;

 (j) the executive director of the Utah Apartment Association or the executive director's designee; 

                                47            {(j)}    (k)    the executive director of the Department of Human Services or the executive

                                48          director's designee;

                                49            {(k)}    (l)    the executive director of the Department of Workforce Services  {,}   or the executive

                                50          director's designee;

                                51            {(l)}    (m)    one person who is a member of the National Association of Housing and

                                52                 Redevelopment Officials, designated by the executive director of the Department of Workforce

                                53          Services; and

                                54            {(m)}    (n)    a member of the public who lives or has lived in low-income subsidized housing,

                                55          designated by the executive director of the Department of Workforce Services.

 

The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Shiowaza absent for the vote.   

 

MOTION:  Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Shiowaza absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Van Tassell moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Shiowaza absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 292      Emergency Medical Service Providers Amendments (Rep. D. McCay)

 

Rep. McCay explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Christensen moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Van Tassell absent for the vote.
