Sen. Osmond assumed the Committee Chair and called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Jenkins moved to approve the minutes of the February 25, 2015 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

S.B.  194      Arts and Culture Business Alliance (J. Dabakis)

 

Sen. Dabakis explained the bill to the committee and distributed a handout.

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

 

 

 

S.C.R.   9     Concurrent Resolution Recognizing the Importance of Utah’s Sport and Olympic Legacy Efforts (J. S. Adams)

 

Chair Osmond announced that at the request of the sponsor, this bill will not be heard today.

 

Sen. Iwamoto assumed the Committee Chair.

 

S.B.   262     Intergenerational Poverty Education Amendments (A. Osmond)

 

Sen. Osmond explained the bill to the committee.

 

John Valentine, Chairman, Utah Tax Commission, further clarified the bill and answered questions from the committee.

 

Tracy Gruber, Department of Workforce Services further explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed with

                     Sen. Jenkins voting in opposition and Sen. Millner and Sen. Adams absent for the

                     vote.

 


MOTION:   Sen. moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson and Sen. Millner absent for the vote.

 

Chair Osmond adjourned the meeting at 9:50 a.m.
