Sen. Osmond called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Millner moved to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2015 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

    

S.B.   274     Military Installation Development Authority Amendments (J. Stevenson)

 

Sen. Stevenson explained the bill to the committee assisted by Paul Morris, General Counsel,

Military Installation Development Authority.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Millner moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

S.C.R.   9     Concurrent Resolution Recognizing the Importance of Utah’s Sport and Olympic Legacy Efforts (J. S. Adams)

 

Sen. Adams explained the bill to the committee and a handout “Utah the State of Sport” was

distributed.

 

Spoke for the bill:  Jeff Robbins, Utah Sports Commission

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the resolution out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

 

H.C.R.   4    Concurrent Resolution Recognizing the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions (S. Hollins)

 

Rep Hollins explained the bill to the committee assisted by Susan Soleil, World’s Parliament.

 

Spoke for the bill:    Pamela Atkinson, Community Activist, Elder, First Presbyterian Church

 

MOTION:   Sen. Iwamoto moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Iwamoto moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.         


 

H.C.R.   2    Concurrent Resolution Designating Religious Freedom Day (Brian S. King)

 

Rep. King explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed

                     unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Millner moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Mayne moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
