Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m. and announced that SB 58 would not be voted on today.

 

SB 12   Passenger Carrier Requirements (Sen. K. Mayne)

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to adopt 1st Sub SB 12.  The motion passed unanimously with   

                    Sen. Adams, Sen. Davis, Sen. Okerlund, and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Mayne explained the bill to the committee.

           

Spoke for the bill:    Michelle McOmber, CEO, Utah Medical Association

                                 Alan Greer, General Manager, Professional Transportation Inc.          

 

MOTION:  Sen. Weiler moved to pass 1st Sub SB 12 out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Okerlund absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Davis moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion was withdrawn.

 

SB  40   Utah Revised Nonprofit Corporation Act Amendments  (Sen. L. Hillyard)

 

Sen. Hillyard explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:  Michael Miller, Community Association Law

 

MOTION:  Sen. Henderson moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed

                     unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Okerlund absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Davis assumed the Committee Chair.

 

SB   30   Department of Commerce Boards, Committees, and Commissions Concurrence Amendments   (Sen. C. Bramble)

 

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed    

                     unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Okerlund absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed

                     unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Okerlund absent for the vote.

              

SB  55   Financial Institutions Amendments (Sen. C. Bramble)

 

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

 

G. Edward Leary, Commissioner of the Utah Department of Financial Institutions clarified the bill.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

                    unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Okerlund absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Bramble moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed

                     unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Okerlund absent for the vote.  

                     

SB  59   Antidiscrimination Act Revisions  (Sen. T. Weiler) 

 

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee.

SB  44   Construction Code Amendments  (Sen. Margaret Dayton)

 

The bill was not considered.

 

SB  70   Insurance Modifications  (Sen. R. Okerlund)

 

Sen. Okerlund explained the bill to the committee.
