Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 2:13 p.m.

 

S.B. 42         Public Notice of Court Recording (Sen. K. Mayne)

 

Sen. Mayne explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Hillyard moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Thatcher absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 57         Public Safety Emergency Management Amendments (Sen. K. Mayne)

 

Sen. Mayne explained the bill to the committee.

S.B. 71         Children’s Justice Center Amendments (Sen. R. Okerlund)

 

Sen. Okerlund explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

 

S.B. 43         Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention in Public Schools (Sen. T. Weiler)

 

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved to amend S.B. 43 as follows:

 

1.         Page 1, Line 17: 


        17             Education, to select a provider  {, through a request for proposals process, }  to supply


 

2.         Page 2, Lines 52 through 54:     


                               52          (3)  The Office of the Attorney General, in collaboration with the State Board of

                               53            Education, shall select one or more providers, through a   {request for proposals process,}    standard procurement process or an exception to standard procurement process as described in Title 63G, Chapter 6a, Utah Procurement Code,   to

                               54          supply materials and curriculum for the pilot program.

 

                        The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Thatcher and Davis absent for the vote.

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Thatcher, Davis and Escamilla absent for the vote.
