Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen Mayne moved to approve the minutes of the January 26, 2016 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen Weiler absent for the vote. 

 

S.B.   58       Nurse Practitioner Amendments (D. Hinkins)

 

Sen. Bramble announced that there would be no vote on this bill today but there would be a full

discussion.

 

Explaining the bill:  Dallen Ormond, President, Utah Nurses Association

                                 Mark Brinton, Utah Medical Association

                                 Dennis Lloyd, Worker’s Compensation Fund

                                

S.B.   76       Workers’ Compensation for Volunteers  (K. Mayne)

 

Sen. Mayne explained the bill to the committee.

 

Dennis Lloyd, Worker’s Compensation Fund further explained the bill.

 

Richard Burke, Utah Association for Justice expressed concerns regarding the legislation.

 

MOTION:  Sen.  Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously

                    With Sen. Henderson absent for the vote.

 

 

 

 

 

 

MOTION:   Sen. Davis moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

Chair Bramble adjourned the meeting at 2:35.
