Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 3:09 p.m. and announced that, at the request of the sponsor, H.B. 36 would not be heard today.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Weiler moved to approve the minutes of the Friday, February 5, 2016 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Henderson absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Weiler assumed the committee chair.   

 

S.B.   129     Driving Privilege Card Amendments (C. Bramble)

 

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Bramble moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Bramble resumed the committee chair.

 

S.B.   138     Health Insurance Coverage for Emergency Care (K. Mayne)

 

Sen. Mayne explained the bill to the committee.

 

Tanji Northrup, Insurance Commissioner, clarified the bill.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to go to the next item on the agenda.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

H.B.   151    Acupuncture Licensing Board Amendments (S. DiCaro)

 

Rep. DiCaro explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Henderson moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Henderson moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

S.B.   136     Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing Amendments (E. Vickers)

 

Sen. Vickers explained the bill to the committee assisted by Mark Steinagle, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Weiler moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

H.B.   154    County Personnel Requirements (B. Dee)

 

Rep. Dee explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Weiler moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Mayne moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 H.B.   185   Deception Detection Examiners Licensing Amendments (F. Gibson)

 

Rep. Gibson explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Henderson moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Mayne moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
