Chair Jackson called the meeting to order at 2:15.

 

Presentation from the Utah Transit Authority: “Reforms and Path Forward for UTA.”

 

Spoke in presentation:             Mr. H. David Burton, Chairman of the Board, UTA

                                                Mr. Jayme Blakesley, General Counsel, UTA

                                                Mr. Jerry Benson, Interim CEO, UTA

 

MOTION:  Sen. Harper moved to approve the minutes of the February 11, 2016 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.    

 

H.B.   0156     Personalized License Plates Amendments (Rep. V.L. Snow)

 

Rep. Snow explained the bill to the committee.

           

MOTION:  Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Hinkins moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

H.B.   0168     Transportation Funding Modifications (Rep. Johnny Anderson)

 

Sen. Jackson explained the bill to the committee.

           

MOTION:  Sen. Harper moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Harper moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion failed with Sen. Van Tassell voting against the motion.

 

H.B.   0189S01           Motor Vehicle Impound Amendments (Rep. S. Handy)

 

Rep. Handy explained the bill to the committee.

                    

Spoke for the bill:       Mr. Wayne Jones, Executive Director Used Car Dealers Association          

                    

MOTION:  Sen. Harper moved to pass HB 0189 1st Substitute out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Van Tassell moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
