Chair Draxler called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.
MOTION: Rep. Daw moved to approve the minutes of the February 16, 2016 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Grover absent for the vote.
H.B. 278 Candidate Financial Disclosure Amendments (Rep. Brad King)
Rep. King explained the bill with the assistance of Mr. Mark Thomas, Director of Elections, Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
MOTION: Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to pass the bill out favorably.
SUBSTITUTE MOTION: Rep. Peterson moved to send the bill to the Rules Committee with a recommendation that the bill be referred for interim study. The motion passed with Rep. Chavez-Houck voting in opposition and Rep. Arent absent for the vote.
H.J.R. 11 Joint Resolution Designating Utah as a Purple Heart State (Rep. F. Cox)
Rep. Schultz explained the resolution.
MOTION: Rep. Cox moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Arent absent for the vote.
MOTION: Rep. Peterson moved to place H.J.R. 11 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Arent absent for the vote.
S.B. 26 Election Notice Amendments (Sen. M. Dayton)
Sen. Dayton explained the bill with the assistance of Mr. Arie VanDeGraff, Utah Association of Counties.
