Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 5:22 p.m. and announced that, at the request of the sponsors, the following two bills will not be heard today:

MOTION:  Sen. Henderson moved to approve the minutes of the February 19, 2016, and February 23, 2016, meetings.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

S.B.  216      Workers’ Compensation Related Amendments (K. Mayne)

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to amend S.B. 216 as follows:

             217                   (b)  Subject to Subsection (11)(d), a workers' compensation insurance carrier or

MOTION:   Sen. Bramble moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.                  Page 142, Lines 4367 through 4378:           


                               4367              (1)  The task force shall review and make recommendations on the following issues:

                               4368              (a)  substance abuse and mental health;

                               4369              (b)  telehealth services;

                               4370              (c)  health professional licensing;

                               4371              (d)  regulation of health maintenance organizations and preferred provider

                               4372      organizations;

                               4373              (e)  balanced billing for covered medical services;

                               4374              (f)  re-codification of the health insurance related parts of Title 31A, Insurance Code;

                               4375        {and} 

                               4376              (g)  the state Medicaid program  {.}    ; and

                        (h) the efficacy of managed care for dental services under Medicaid. 

                               4377              (2)  A final report, including any proposed legislation, shall be presented to the

                               4378        Business and Labor Interim Committee before November 30, 2016.
